Membership

The Lake Canyon Yacht Club is dedicated to promoting sailing on Canyon Lake as well as active participation in the LCYC volunteer-based community . We promote a wide variety of activities both on the water and ashore, including monthly and special event club racing, a youth sailing program, sailing classes for all ages and a wide variety social events. LCYC is also host to several circuit and regional regattas throughout the year; the club's signature event is the annual Wurstfest Regatta held in late October/early November.

The club's amenities include a 144 slip waterfront with ample docking space for dry sailed boats and visitors participating in regattas, a two lane launching ramp, dry storage for over 150 boats, a clubhouse with a party deck, swimming pool and a boat rigging tower for stepping and unstepping masts. The Lake Canyon Yacht Club supports an active racing program which includes J-22, Catalina 22, Flying Scot, Sunfish, Opti, PHRF, Portsmouth and Multi-hull fleets.

Categories of membership are Senior (over the age of 18), non-resident (over the age of 18 and with a principal residence outside a 150 mile radius of the Lake Canyon Yacht Club) and student (those who are full time students). No person shall be denied membership because of race, color, gender, creed, disability or national origin. Those interested in more information may contact Bob Wickman, our Membership Chairman, or complete and submit the membership application located on this page. Membership in LCYC is conditional upon the recommendation of 3 individuals who have been members of the club for at least 2 years.

Once an application has been received, the Membership Committee will make a recommendation to the Board of Governors.
