Branch Long Distance Race
An annual event that coincides with the 4th of July weekend, the Branch Long Distance Race is an LCYC tradition providing an opportunity to test your racing skills in a forum other than "around the buoy". Named for former LCYC member Dr. Charles L. Branch, there is a perpetual trophy for the first keel boat to finish as well as trophies for each class. Expect a strong fleet of PHRF competitors and the potential for one design fleets of keel boats and board boats. This race is open to keel boats, board boats, catamarans and tri-hulls.

Balloon Chase
The race committe works extra hard for this race, inflating hundreds of balloons to be released along the race course. The crew scooping up the most balloons wins - the competition is fierce with an ingenious array of "scooping tactics." As if this were not enough fun, the annual Ice Cream Freeze Off contest and tasting takes place in the club house immediately after the race.
