For over 30 years LCYC has been teaching adults of all ages the basics of sailing. Our program takes place over two weekends with instruction both in the classroom and on the water. Topics include: sailing terminology, role of wind, sail trim, knot tying, basic right of way rules, launching from a trailer, rigging and derigging, mooring, understanding weather, making a sail plan, safety and knowledge of the Texas Boating Digest.
We encourage everyone to treat these two weekends as a single course, although we will accept entrants for either one (must have prior sailing experience to sign up for only the second session.) Fees are $30 for both weekends, or $15 for either weekend separately. Only one fee is required for two attendees if they are willing share the course books.

February 27 & February 28 – Session I
March 6 & March 7 – Session II
9am – noon – classroom
